Join us on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 7:00 PM in historic McCandless Hall on the campus of Athens State University. Bluegrass Legends – Bobby Osborne, Herschel Sizemore, and Ronnie Reno will be reminiscing about “the good ol’ days.” Come hear stories about their lives as bluegrass legends.

Bobby Osborne – Bobby Osborne… the name conjures up memories of that incredible high voice ringing over the hills at a bluegrass festival on a warm summer evening, of the sounds of Rocky Top rolling in on 50,000 watts on The Grand Ole Opry on WSM, 650 on your radio dial, of the sounds of Rubeeeeee!!!, on radio and television stations ever since Bobby Osborne first burst on the scene in 1949.

Herschel Sizemore – In the first 30 years of his professional career he worked diligently and without stop in a series of different bands, many of them considered classic bluegrass outfits. Then he took a break from musical activity, returning for phase two in the early ’90s, his career then dominated with a solid attempt to establish himself as a bandleader and present his own compositions. He formed the Herschel Sizemore Band in 1995 and has since released two CDs under his own name.

Ronnie Reno – Ronnie Reno’s first performance at age seven would prove to be the beginning of one of the most colorful, diverse and distinguished careers in the music industry–one that spans over 60 years, alongside some of the most legendary entertainers in Bluegrass and Country Music history. He has worked alongside many famous artists as a songwriter, producer, or musician. Some of these artists include – Merle Haggard, Mel Tillis, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Leona Williams, Conway Twitty, and many more!
