The Athens State University Alumni Association hosted the 30th Annual Golf Classic on September 23 at Canebrake Club in Athens. The event raised over $40,000 for student scholarships, a new record for the most money ever raised at the event.
Thanks to the generosity of golfers, donors, and volunteers, the following students were recipients of the annual golf scholarship during the 2020-2021 academic year: Colton Putman, Valerie Davis, Kayla Hale, Alex Higginbotham, Kara Kelsey, Olivia Logan, Shannon Longshore, Branigan McPeters, Cassie Norris, Rebecca Rotermund, Denver Satterlee, Anna Schrimsher, Tyler Stevens, Corbin Stueve, Kayla Thompson, and Ashlyn McDonald.
Athens State would like to express its sincerest gratitude to all donors and everyone who came together to make this event a success. The 31st Annual Golf Classic is scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2022.
